Mission and Objective of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) Program  

The mission of the Parish of Saint Ann’s Faith Formation Program for Kids is to partner with parents or guardians in helping our parish’s youngest missionary disciples of Jesus to grow in faith and love of God our Father within the communion of the parish community and prepare them for mission through excellent catechesis and Sunday liturgy, community fellowship, and service within the parish community which encourages service at home and in the world.

Cost

While no one will ever be denied participation in our program for financial reasons, we are asking for some financial support from families to help cover a part of the cost for our parish program. The fee is $75 for the first child and $50 for each additional child.

Excellent Catechesis In Faith and Morals:

Excellent Sunday Liturgy 

Full, active, and conscious participation in the celebration of the Eucharistic Sacrifice and Banquet is essential to the Parish of Saint Ann’s Faith Formation for Kids. All parents and guardians are asked to commit themselves to weekly participation in the Mass at the Parish of Saint Ann in order that their child might learn how to enter into the public prayer of the Sacred Liturgy of Sunday Mass.

Weekly participation is an important way you fulfill your part in the partnership between you and the parish community in faith formation for kids, and it is one of the ways you fulfill your promise, before God, of nurturing the light of faith shared with your child on the day of their holy Baptism.  

If for some reason, you must participate at a Mass at another parish and/or miss the faith formation class, parents and guardians are asked to please email us at growingdisciples@saintannpeoria.com. 

Please keep in mind consistent participation is an expectation of our faith, we have a duty to worship God each Sunday with our family and give Him thanks and praise. Consistent absence from the Sacred Liturgy at Saint Ann’s and from faith formation classes for kids may result in your child not being fully prepared for their first holy Communion and/or Confirmation.

Community Fellowship 

We experience parish community within the Sacred Liturgy of Sunday Mass. But, we also experience parish community encountering and engaging with others through spaces of conversation and fellowship.  

This is one of the reasons why we have intentionally built into our faith formation for kids a space each week prior to the beginning of class, where, your child can receive a snack and spend some time with each other and their teachers.   

In addition to this space within our Faith Formation for Kids, we encourage you to seek out other opportunities within the parish community for presence and engagement, such as, at parish socials offered throughout the year.  

We all know the parish church is not just a place for Mass. It is a home. The people we sit by while participating in Mass are not simply fellow participants but our family with Jesus. We want to help our children to know and experience these realities as well.   

Service within the Parish Community of Faith  

As children learn a sense of responsibility for the good of the household and family through chores, our faith formation for kids will include service within the Sacred Liturgy at a monthly CCD Mass. Students will serve as altar servers, proclaim the 1st and 2nd Reading, bring up the gifts, help with the collection, and serve as greeters.   

In addition, we ask our students 4th grade and above to serve as altar servers and be a part of a rotation to serve at any of the Sunday Masses at your family’s choosing. 

Classes begin on September 13th 2026 in the parish center at 9:30AM following the 8:30AM Mass  and conclude at 10:50AM in time for those who wish to gather for the Eucharistic Sacrifice and Banquet at 11AM in the parish church.
